Privacy policy

Notice on the protection of personal data pursuant to article 13 of the general data protection regulation (GDPR).

1. GENERAL

The organiser of the Slovenian Global Forum (hereinafter: “SGF” or “the event”) respects your right to privacy and strives to ensure the highest level of protection of your personal data.

  • the Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-2),

The purpose of this personal data protection notice (hereinafter: “the notice”) is to inform you:

  • for which purposes we collect personal data,
  • which types of personal data we process,
  • how we use them,
  • the legal basis for processing,
  • your rights in relation to your personal data.

We undertake not to sell or lend personal data. We will not disclose personal data to third parties, except where required by law or where necessary for the organisation of the event (e.g. ensuring participant security, provision of interpretation services with headset distribution, etc.).

Personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations. Automated decision-making and/or profiling will not be carried out.

3. Purpose of Processing and Types of Personal Data

All personal data you provide will be treated confidentially and used solely for the purposes for which they were collected.

3.1 Website Visit

When visiting the SGF website, certain data are automatically collected:

  • IP address,
  • browser type,
  • access time.

These data are processed for:

  • ensuring website functionality,
  • analytics and improvements,
  • system security.

These data are processed separately and are not used to directly identify individuals.

3.2 Event Registration

For event registration, we collect the following personal data:

  • first and last name,
  • email address,
  • phone number (optional),
  • organisation or company,
  • type of organisation,
  • job title or position,
  • country of the company.

The data are processed for:

  • registration and organisation of the event,
  • communication with participants,
  • accreditation preparation,
  • administrative and logistical arrangements.

3.3 Communication and Notifications

Your contact details may be used to:

  • send event-related information,
  • inform you about the programme and updates,

Based on your explicit consent, your contact details may also be used to inform you about other events, programmes, and activities of the Ministry.
Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time.

3.4 Contact and Enquiries

If you contact us via email or forms, we process:

  • name,
  • contact details,
  • message content.

These data are used to respond to your enquiry.

3.5 Social Media

You may communicate with us via comments or messages on social media.
The organiser has no control over data processing carried out by platform providers; therefore, we recommend reviewing their privacy policies.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

The legal basis for processing personal data is point (a) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR, as well as Article 6(3) and Article 93 of ZVOP-2.

Providing personal data is not a legal or contractual obligation.

However, without providing the required data, event registration and participation are not possible.

5. Recipients or Categories of Recipients

Your personal data may be shared with:

  • contracted processors (e.g. IT providers, registration system providers, email and analytics services, and event partners to the extent necessary),
  • competent authorities where required by law.

All processors are bound to protect personal data.

6. Data Retention

Personal data collected for the event are retained:

  • as long as necessary for event implementation and up to 3 years after the event,
  • in accordance with legal requirements (e.g. accounting records).

Data processed based on consent (for future communications) are stored until withdrawal of consent.

7. Data Protection Measures

We ensure appropriate:

  • technical measures,
  • organisational measures

to protect personal data. After the purpose of processing ceases, data are permanently deleted or anonymised.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data,
  • rectification,
  • erasure,
  • restriction of processing,
  • objection,
  • data portability (where applicable),
  • withdraw consent.

Requests can be submitted to the controller.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia

9. Photography and Recording

The event will be photographed and recorded for documentation, public information, and promotional purposes.

Materials may be used in:

  • promotional materials,
  • websites,
  • social media,
  • other communication channels.

Processing is based on the legitimate interest of the organiser.

Participants may appear in recordings as part of the event or crowd.

The organiser will use materials responsibly and will not intentionally expose individuals in a harmful or inappropriate way.

10. Cookies

The website uses cookies for:

  • functionality,
  • analytics,
  • improving user experience.

Users can manage cookie settings in their browser.

11. Changes to the Notice

The organiser reserves the right to amend this notice.

The latest version is always available on the SGF website.
