The event's green footprint
The Slovenian Global Forum is committed to sustainability. Our goal is to reduce the event’s carbon footprint through thoughtful conference preparation and participant engagement.
Did you know that traveling by train can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 80-90% compared to driving a car?
Consider a more sustainable way of getting to the event – walking, cycling, using public transport, or carpooling. Your contribution matters to the green event. Every step counts.

Food waste in Europe accounts for as much as 7% of greenhouse gas emissions, so please help us plan prudently. By confirming your lunch registration, you are directly preventing waste and becoming part of a sustainable solution.
Plastic-free refreshment
Did you know that tap water is 225 times cheaper and incomparably more sustainable? Instead of bottled water, at the SGF we rely on the local wealth from the tap, which ranks among the very best in Europe for quality.
To reduce the use of single-use plastics, we will provide glass pitchers throughout the entire event. Together, let’s ensure that our forum leaves no unnecessary waste behind.
Green decoration with a second life
Instead of cut flowers, at the SGF we choose live, locally grown plants from the immediate vicinity of the venue. In this way, we reduce transport routes and support local expertise.
After the forum concludes, we do not discard the plants; instead, we ensure they are reused or replanted in new environments.
