Green footprint of the event
The Slovenian Global Forum is committed to sustainability. Everyone can contribute to the common goal of a green event – including you!
Did you know that traveling by train can reduce your carbon footprint by up to 80-90% compared to driving a car?
Consider a more sustainable way of getting to the event – walking, cycling, using public transport, or carpooling. Your contribution matters to the green event. Every step counts.

Seasonal food, sustainable choice.
By choosing local, seasonal food at the event, we support local producers, reduce our environmental footprint, and provide participants with an opportunity to explore the diversity and characteristics of regional cuisine.

0,5100kg CO2e/kg
Tomato – off-season:
1,8800kg CO2e/kg
Food waste is responsible for as much as 7% of all greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. Help us reduce this impact together – sign up for lunch and be part of the sustainable solution!
Less plastic, more sustainability!
We encourage you not to bring plastic water bottles. At the event, help yourself to a glass of tap water and contribute to reducing plastic waste, 15 million tons of which end up in the oceans every year.
Did you know that tap water in Slovenia is among the highest quality in Europe and, on average, 225 times cheaper than bottled water?
Beautiful and sustainable
Did you know that the plants that will be used at SGF are grown only 12.2 km from Maribor?
The plants that will decorate the venue are sustainably grown by the third generation of a family-run nursery. We are proud that after the event, all the plants will continue their journey to new homes.
Measure. Improve.
This year, we will measure the carbon footprint of the event for the first time, transparently publish the results, and obtain a sustainability certificate. This will help us identify key areas for improvement and implement measures to further reduce our environmental impact.
Let’s contribute to a greener future – reduce our negative impact on the environment, promote sustainable practices, and build a responsible society together.
